Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information ShowShowShow (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects when you use our website and app at https://app.showshowshow.app (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
Account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects and stores information needed to create and secure your account, such as your email address and name, and — if you sign in with a third-party provider — basic profile details from that provider.
Content you create. We store the things you create in the Service, such as your library, lists, lineups, schedules, watch progress, ratings, and notes, so we can show them back to you.
Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payments are handled by our payment processor, Stripe. Stripe collects and processes your payment details directly; we receive limited billing information (such as a customer/subscription identifier and your subscription status) and do not store your full payment card number.
Usage & technical data. We use a product-analytics and error-monitoring provider (PostHog) to understand how the Service is used and to diagnose problems. This may include events about how you interact with the Service, device and browser information, approximate location derived from your IP address, and error logs.
2. How we use information
- to provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
- to authenticate you and keep your account secure;
- to process subscriptions and payments;
- to understand usage, fix bugs, and improve the Service;
- to communicate with you about your account or support requests; and
- to comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
3. Service providers we share data with
We don’t sell your personal information. We share data only with the providers we rely on to run the Service, and only as needed for them to perform their function:
- Clerk — account authentication and management
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing
- PostHog — product analytics and error monitoring
- DigitalOcean — application and database hosting
- TMDB and Jikan / MyAnimeList — sources of title metadata (we send title search queries to retrieve show, movie, and anime information; we do not send them your personal account data)
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the Service.
4. Cookies & similar technologies
We and our providers use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to measure how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information, except where we need to retain it to meet legal, accounting, or security obligations.
6. Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA). You can manage much of your information from your account settings, or contact us to exercise these rights. You can also stop processing at any time by deleting your account.
7. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security.
8. International transfers
We and our providers may process and store information in countries other than your own. Where required, we take steps to ensure your information receives an adequate level of protection when transferred internationally.
9. Children’s privacy
The Service isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we’ll delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
